2019 Python Coding Summer Camp: Huntington, WV! June 24-28

The Robert C. Byrd Institute will offer: Python Coding for Kids! Summer Camp in June. Campers from middle school to high school age will have firsthand experience coding in Python; the same powerful language behind sites like YouTube and DropBox can be a tool in YOUR toolbox.

You don’t need any experience with programming to get started! Campers will also explore careers in coding, information technology, and Source Validation as this course is conducted by Leeann Hesson. Leeann has served as public library Information Specialist, and staff librarian at Marshall University, edits books, and is currently librarian at Winfield High School! She is a coding instructor at RCBI, and loves to teach kids of all ages to code!

Have a Raspberry Pi or other micro-computer that can speak Python? Bring it along! You can do your coding there, and take your projects to the next level. Don’t have one? That’s fine! You don’t need to bring a thing; we’ll be using computers provided by RCBI.

Are you a kid at heart, with a desire to learn programming, or better yet -mom or dad- would you like to join one of your kids? Sign up!

Daily, June 24-28, 10 am – 2 pm (lunch provided). Book: ‘Mission Python: Code a Space Adventure Game! by: Sean McManus provided; take notes, you keep the book!
