  • Associates degree (A.A.), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school – Science or related discipline (Chemistry preferred) is required
  • 0-2 years of quality assurance laboratory experience in a chemical manufacturing or similar environment

Hours of work: Full-time position with hours generally Monday through Friday – 8-Hour Rotational Shift

Position: Quality Laboratory Technician
Location: Big Sandy Plant – Catlettsburg, KY

Under minimal supervision, perform laboratory analyses on in-process materials, and finished products. Perform maintenance and calibration on analytical instruments. Carry out responsibilities in accordance with Calgon Carbon Corporation’s policies and procedures as well as other requirements including but not limited to safety regulations, international standards (e.g., ISO 9001), and state, federal, and local laws.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Responsible to maintain a safe and productive workplace
  • Perform various tasks including but not limited test preparation, equipment maintenance, and stock replenishment
  • Document and record all testing and maintenance activities as required by Management
  • Clean and maintain work areas including associated laboratory equipment
  • Acts as First-Aid responder
  • Participate in developmental and other training activities as required by Management
  • Communicates quality data and/or issues, as well as opportunities for improvement to Quality Assurance and Production Management
  • Reviews and analyzes data to ensure compliance with testing and equipment specifications
  • Reviews and analyzes in-process and finished product testing data to identify significant trends to drive decision-making to assist with quality control and assurance activities
  • Perform various analyses on in-process materials and finished products
  • Operate various analytical instruments as required by Management
  • Assist with training including but not limited to new-hire, refresher, and new procedures and/or processes
  • Performs other duties as required by Management
