Melt/Cast Metallurgical Supervisor
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or equivalent engineering degree.
- 5 years of Melt Shop or Continuous Casting metallurgy or leading a team experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Vacuum Tank Degassing of Automotive Quality Steels
- Experience with casting surface-critical sheet steels

Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking applicants for the position of Melt/Cast Metallurgical Supervisor. The role of the Melt/Cast Metallurgical Supervisor includes, but is not limited to ​​​​​​establishing a culture of safety awareness, team development, quality production, and continuous improvement. Coordinating safety, quality, and process improvements throughout the Melt Shop and Caster. ​​​​​​​Managing metallurgical engineer functions at the Melt Shop and Caster. ​​​​​​Leading the Melt Shop and Casting Team to achieve world class quality, yields, and costs as well as ​​​​​​​customer technical service including direct technical contact with OEM customers. The role will also be responsible for ​​​​​​​developing technical training for our teammates.
Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor’s new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities. This is a greenfield project, which is estimated to be fully operational in 2025. The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV. This is a full-time position located at our offices in Mason County, WV.
