Manufacturing Laboratory Technician
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Analyzing samples received from the Chemours and Belle Plant Tenant operating areas according to standard operating procedures
- Operating and maintaining a variety of analytical equipment including but not limited to: GC, FTIR, HPLC, GCMS, and ICPMS
- Writing or modifying procedures and forms as appropriate
- Assisting in setting up new equipment and test methods and development of trace testing methods
- Performing calibrations and control charting according to ISO Standards
- Completing inventory and ordering supplies to ensure optimal inventory of reagents and consumables. Preparing, analyzing, and shipping product samples in a timely manner.
- Providing Field Laboratory support to Chemours and Belle Plant Tenant operating areas
- Supporting and operating the state certified Environmental Lab
- Entering data into the LIMS computer system and input releases in SAP
- Preparing building equipment for maintenance
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
- A Bachelors of Science Degree from an Accredited University OR a 2-year Technical Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience will be considered OR 5+ years of relevent laboratory experience.
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and repair of analytical equipment
- Ability to multi-task and work with shifting priorities with thorough attention to detail
- Efficiency with computer basics and systems and programs (ex. LIMS and SAP) with effective oral and written communication and mathematical skills including algebra
- Ability to move, lift, and carry containers weighing up to 50 pounds and wear PPE for assigned tasks
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
- 4-year Chemistry Degree from an Accredited University
- Experience working in an analytical laboratory setting operating and maintaining a variety of analytical equipment including but not limited to: GC, FTIR, HPLC, GCMS, and ICPMS
- Experience working in the chemicals industry
