Pre-Apprenticeships in Advanced Manufacturing
Apprenticeship Works’ pre-apprenticeships programs help to diversify and expand the manufacturing workforce. Through these programs, participants prepare for new careers in manufacturing by learning basic foundational skills applicable to registered apprenticeship programs around the country.
Programs are offered for women, veterans and disadvantaged youth:
The Step Up for Women Advanced Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship Program prepares women for entry-level positions and apprenticeships in manufacturing. The 10-week program is offered through a partnership between West Virginia Women Work and the Marshall Advanced Manufacturing Center. For more information go to http://wvwomenwork.org/stepupamp.
The Pre-Apprenticeship in Advanced Manufacturing for Veterans is available to veterans, transitioning military, and their spouses. It is free and offered entirely online. For more information or for an application, contact Carol Howerton here.
The Pre-Apprenticeship in Advanced Manufacturing for Youth is available to young people, 16-24, who are interested in getting a head start on a manufacturing career. The program is free and offered online. For more information or for an application, contact Carol Howerton here.
