Greg Walker named RCBI Employee of the Month for April

Charles Gregory (“Greg”) Walker of Weston, W.Va., is the April Employee of the Month at the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing, RCBI Director and CEO Charlotte Weber announced. An information systems specialist, he has been employed by RCBI for the past five years and works in the RCBI Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center in Bridgeport, W.Va.

A Weston native and a 1986 graduate of Lewis County High School, Walker earned a B.S. degree in Computer Science Engineering from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1989. He also holds Cisco, Microsoft and Salesforce certifications.

Walker lived and worked in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Georgia before moving back to his home state in 1994. Prior to joining RCBI he worked as a senior systems engineer for Micrologic, Inc. in Buckhannon. Before that he operated his own businesses, Neumedia, Inc. in Buckhannon and Walker & Co., Inc. in Weston after working from 1994 to 1996 as a network and sales specialist for H. L. Hester, Inc. in Clarksburg, W.Va.

His wife, Mary Riley Walker, is a writer/editor for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Their daughter, Meagan, 10, is a fourth grader at St. Patrick School in Weston. Walker is involved in the Lewis County youth soccer program and coaches his daughter’s soccer team. His other interests include hunting, fishing and running and he is training to compete in his first triathlon.

“Like so many of our dedicated staff members, Greg combines extensive experience with talent and enthusiasm in enabling RCBI to meet its goals,” Ms. Weber said. “We value highly his contributions to our information technology operations.”
