Manufacturing Equipment Bid Notice

The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI), West Virginia’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, is accepting sealed bids until Monday, January 9th at noon for an Okuma MX-60 HB Horizontal Machining Center.

Features of the advanced, high powered machining center, which can be seen at the RCBI Charleston Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, are available from Rick Martin at 304.781.1681 or 800.469.RCBI.

RCBI reserves the right to reject any or all bids. No warranty is either expressed or implied.  Highest bid will determine successful award.  Machine is available in an “as-is” and “where-is” condition and must be claimed and removed by bidder within 10 days notice of an acceptable bid.  Cashier’s check is due prior to pickup.

Okuma MX-60 HB Horizontal Machining Center details

The Okuma was purchased new and delivered in 1997. Its powerful main spindle-drive provides infinitely variable speeds from 10 to 5,000 RPM. Because of its integrated two interchangeable pallet systems, this machining center reduces the time otherwise lost to part set up. The mill also features M-O-P to monitor operations as it cuts intricate parts, sensing when it isn’t cutting the material but is merely cutting through air and automatically adjusts the feed rate accordingly.
