Workforce Recruiter at the Robert C. Byrd Institute

The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI), West Virginia's Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, is accepting applications for a Workforce Recruiter at the RCBI Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center in Bridgeport, where the position will be based.
Duties: Providing overall regional (WV and contiguous states) student recruiting and outreach to industrial clients; developing local, regional and national recruiting strategies and resources as well as new and creative recruitment ideas; attaining annual enrollment levels established by RCBI; working to enhance the identity of RCBI and its mission of providing industry-focused technical assistance and customized training to manufacturers and entrepreneurs. Travel is required.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Candidate should have the ability to make large and small group presentations, as well as work one-on-one with individuals; and work individually or as part of the statewide RCBI team. Candidate should be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook, and how to use audiovisual equipment. Candidate must have student recruiting, admissions and financial aid experience. A pre-employment background check is required.

CNC Machinist at the Robert C. Byrd Institute

The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI), West Virginia's Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, is accepting applications for a CNC Machinist at the RCBI Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center in Bridgeport.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Include day-to-day interaction with all RCBI sites; responsible for supporting the area and regional customers to ensure partner and industry satisfaction; lead in development and implementation of appropriate procedures and processes to ensure the latest technologies are available; lead in maintaining a safe and clean facility, assuring all safety procedures are followed; assess and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and set up requirements; responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and performing basic preventive maintenance functions on equipment, and performing other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications: Must have a minimum of five to ten years work experience in set-up of CNC lathes, CNC mills and multi-axis machining centers; knowledge in use of precision measuring instruments and the application of instruments that include but are not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales; a strong understanding of blueprint reading/geometric tolerancing interpretation; an intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines; be able to follow written and oral instructions; be able to communicate (both written and oral) as it relates to the job; be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events; be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules; possess basic math skills that include but are not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication; have the ability to program CNC using CAD/CAM; have experience with either HAAS and/or Okuma equipment, as well as CNC Lasers, WaterJets and Routers, Composites-materials a plus. An Associate or Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical field is preferred. Must be willing to travel. A pre-employment background check is required.

Description
The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI), West Virginia’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center is accepting resumes for a Site Manager position.
Responsibilities: The responsibilities include both human and material resources. Typical work activities include:
Employee Management
Overseeing the production process; drawing up a production schedule,
Set up, operation and programming of equipment
Recommending equipment for site
Estimating projects for clients
Assist in Designing Projects for Clients
Developing a regional manufacturing base of clients
Liaison among external entities
Liaison among different RCBI departments
Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed
Supervise and motivate a team environment – statewide
Be responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment
Work with management to implement company’s policies, practices and goals
Responsible for reviewing worker performance and reporting site accomplishments, reports, etc.
Qualifications:
Must have 5 - 7 years’ work experience in programming, set-up and operation of CNC machines; knowledge of raw materials a plus; knowledge of quality systems and standards a plus; knowledge of process improvements techniques a plus; strong written and oral communications skills as well as good interpersonal skills; a strong background in conventional machining and shop practices; critical thinking and problem solving skills, planning and organizing, communication, and time management a must. This position shall require 3-5 years of supervisory experience as well as mastercam and/or solidworks knowledge. The candidate must be capable of working alone or with a group to accomplish tasks and meet goals; have working knowledge of Microsoft Office. A Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field is preferred.

Shared Manufacturing Intern at the Robert C. Byrd Institute

Position Type: Part-time temporary position. Maximum 20 Hours per week.
Special Note: Must be student. This position will be located in Bridgeport, WV.
Qualifications: Must have good mechanical aptitude. Maintenance experience preferred. Experience in machining that includes using engine lathes, boring mills, horizontal mills, vertical mills, grinders and CNC Machines preferred. The ability to program CNC using CAD/CAM, setup and operate all types of CNC equipment preferred. Candidate should be proficient with the use of precision measurement and hand tools. Prefer strong oral and written skills combined with a team player attitude. Interested individuals must display self-initiative, and the ability to work in a team environment is required.
Duties: Will be required to perform cleaning, maintenance tasks, assist with machine setups, all other duties as assigned.
