Quality Training and Certification from RCBI
The RCBI Quality Certification group helps manufacturers develop and implement documented quality systems to help ensure that they remain effective, sought-after and environmentally conscious suppliers. To this end, RCBI offers a strong schedule of specialized quality-focused courses in the latest theories and techniques, and regularly helps companies develop work instructions and supervisory management skills.
Leading by Example
While we help manufacturers attain standards registration, RCBI also implemented a Quality Management System and earned registration to ISO 9001: 2000 for the RCBI Composite Tech & Training Center.
Quality Management: No Longer Optional
The establishment of an effective quality system has become a necessity driven by competitive, global market forces — to stay in business, companies must prove that they can provide a quality product or service and continually improve their processes over time. They must produce in lean environments with the minimum amount of waste to provide value to their customers. To meet the needs of a wider range of stakeholders, they must manage their impact on the environment and provide conditions that are healthy and safe for their employees and surrounding communities. Their suppliers also must meet these conditions.
Step-by-Step Assistance for Manufacturers
RCBI and the State of West Virginia follow a manufacturing consortium approach to quality system registration. If you are a West Virginia manufacturer, we will break down costs for you and walk your company through a program to attain registration to recognized quality standards. Along the way, we can provide considerable assistance as necessary.
The RCBI Quality Certification group provides training and implementation assistance at any of our RCBI Manufacturing Technology Centers, or at your company site.
Custom Solutions for Your Specific Challenges
In addition, we provide the customized assistance that's necessary to help you succeed. For example, we can help you meet general Standards applicable to all organizations such as the International Quality Management System Standard (ISO 9001), the Environmental Management System Standard (ISO 14001) and the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS 18001). We can also help you meet sector-specific standards including AS9100 for the aerospace industry, TS16949 for the automotive industry, ISO 17025 for calibration and testing laboratories and Responsible Care for the chemical industry. Assistance with military specifications, often still required by the DoD, is also available at RCBI.
There are two programs available through the West Virginia Development Office to assist your company with the expense of quality management system implementation:
1. For West Virginia companies with ten or more employees
The Governor’s Guaranteed Work Force Program (GGWFP) will typically reimburse companies a percentage of their implementation expenses, excluding Registration. Pre-approval is required. For additional information on GGWFP funding, contact Sharon Adams at 304.558.7027.
2. For companies with ten or fewer employees
The Small Business Work Force program awards training grants up to $5,000 a year to small companies. For additional information, contact Kimberly Donahue at 304.558.2960.
