Non-profits collaborate to host WV DOH Vendor Fair

The Robert C. Byrd Institute’s (RCBI) Appalachian Hatchery project, in partnership with Advantage Valley, is hosting a West Virginia Division of Highways Vendor Fair designed to link statewide small businesses to the Department of Transportation’s procurement process. The August 23 event will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Valley Park Conference Center in Hurricane.

An ongoing survey conducted by the RCBI finds that West Virginia manufacturers are in the process of hiring more than 1,000 positions, the majority of which are new jobs. The survey further indicates a high demand for workers in specific areas, such as machining, CNC machining, and welding.

Women-in-manufacturing program to graduate first Bridgeport class
