Startups pitch business ideas during Demo Day at RCBI

Entrepreneurs in TEN50 – West Virginia’s Business Accelerator – pitched their new ventures to prospective investors and community supporters January 23 during Demo Day at RCBI Huntington. The event followed three months of intense mentoring to assist the startups as they turned their ideas and plans into solid business operations. “Small businesses are the backbone of West Virginia’s economy,” said Charlotte Weber, RCBI Director & CEO. “RCBI’s TEN50 Business Accelerator gives entrepreneurs the guidance and resources they need to launch small businesses quickly.”
RCBI invests in equipment, training to serve southern WV

The Robert C. Byrd Institute’s (RCBI) Appalachian Hatchery program, which is funded by POWER (Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization), has begun installing nearly a quarter million dollars’ worth of new machining equipment at Southern West Virginia Community & Technical College’s Williamson campus. New training, national certification and associate degree programs will be launched in the near future.
