RCBI Helps Hard-Hit Manufacturers
HUNTINGTON — In response to the summer flooding that devastated areas of West Virginia, the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI) is offering to assess manufacturers’ machinery and operations that were damaged.
“While our staff initially donated relief supplies including personal items, we – as an organization – wanted to do more for hard-hit manufacturers,” said Charlotte Weber, RCBI Director & CEO.
On-site visits to assess operations began July 5, and the first visit was to Herbert Hoover High School in Clendenin to assess damaged lathes and other machinery in its industrial-vocational shop.RCBI continues to reach out to members of the manufacturing community offering to evaluate affected machinery and attempt to get operations up and running again as quickly as possible.
If you or manufacturers you know have been affected, call Arley Carpenter, Director of Manufacturing Services, toll-free at 800.469.7224 to schedule a visit by our experienced team of manufacturing engineers.
