Carmen Archer of Proctorville, Ohio, has joined the Robert C. Byrd Institute (RCBI) as Quality & Environmental Management Systems Specialist. As a member of the RCBI Quality Services group, Archer assists manufacturers so they conform to quality and environmental standards that increase productivity, reduce waste and meet international specifications, including transition to the ISO 9001: 2015 family of standards that contribute to an organization’s sustained success.
“RCBI plays an important role in economic development by assisting companies with Quality implementation so they can improve, increase production and meet industry standards – standards that often are required for them to become vital links in the supply chain to major manufacturers,” said Charlotte Weber, RCBI Director & CEO. “Carmen’s extensive industry experience and understanding of quality procedures make her a valuable addition to our team of experts serving manufacturers across our region – and beyond.”
Prior to joining RCBI, Archer worked in the Bursar’s Office at Marshall University and spent 28 years at mining equipment maker and repair service Becker/SMC, where she served in a variety of positions, including quality technician.
After graduating from high school in Hawaii, Archer earned a bachelor’s degree in health care management from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. She is pursuing a master’s degree in human resources at Marshall University.
