RCBI, SBA to present free business financing workshops

The Robert Byrd Institute (RCBI) in partnership with the West Virginia District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will host a series of business financing workshops across southern West Virginia beginning Feb. 15.

The free “Show Me the Money” workshops are:

* Feb. 15 at RCBI in Huntington (1050 Fourth Ave.)

* Feb. 22, Southern W.Va. Community & Technical College in Logan (Building A, Room 111)

* March 22 – Beckley (TBA)

Leo Lopez, lender relations specialist with the SBA, will discuss the reality of funding a small business, cost-effective funding sources and how guaranteed loans really work. The workshops will conclude with a brief update on social media marketing dos and don’ts by RCBI’s Will Miller, Business Retention Specialist.

“These are timely workshops targeted to anyone starting, thinking about starting or who currently owns a business,” said Jane Bostic, Director of RCBI’s Accelerate Forward. “This is an opportunity to learn about funding opportunities available to jump-start a business and/or prepare you to diversify your existing business.”

Participants are asked to register for the workshops by 3 p.m. the day before each event. Sign up at www.rcbi.org/go/showmethemoney. For more information, contact RCBI’s Jane Bostic at 304.781.1681 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
