Calling all makers: RCBI's annual festival set for Oct. 6

RCBI will present the West Virginia Makes Festival - a celebration of ingenuity and creativity to inspire artists, inventors, makers and students of all ages - on Friday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Huntington at Marshall University's Memorial Student Center Plaza.

The annual festival, which coincides with national Manufacturing Day, is open to everyone and will feature special exhibits and attractions, live music, and technology. A Design Challenge will provide makers the opportunity to demonstrate their new ideas and skills, and reward their creative inspirations.

Educators and teachers are encouraged to bring their students so they can engage with makers of all ages and entrepreneurs. Buses and vans will have special parking after they drop off their passengers on the 5th Avenue entrance to the Student Center.

"Our festival celebrates makers and inspires everyone," said Charlotte Weber, RCBI Director & CEO. "It taps into the inventive community of entrepreneurs, innovators and tinkerers so they can interact with like-minded makers."
