RCBI Now on Facebook, YouTube

YouTubeFacebookHUNTINGTON – Information about West Virginia’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center is now available on two leading social networking sites.

The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI) is posted on Facebook and YouTube.

“Because our current -- and future -- clients are going there, we need to be there as well,” said RCBI Director & CEO Charlotte Weber. “Social media cites such as Facebook and YouTube are no longer novelties accessed by a few avid followers. They’ve become part of the daily agenda for millions of people, both in this country and literally around the world.”

Postings on both sites can be accessed by using the initials “RCBI.”

Posted on RCBI’s Facebook page are brief descriptions of the high-tech manufacturing equipment it has available for clients, along with information on RCBI’s training offerings and other programs, which include reverse engineering and the design of parts using cutting edge software.

Videos currently posted on YouTube offer an overview of RCBI, details about its Machinist Technology Program and a close-up look at its computer-controlled manufacturing equipment, such as the Amada Pulsar 2000W Laser cutter, at work.

Founded in 1990, RCBI provides access to cutting edge technology and technical training in West Virginia and the region. Operating from Advanced Manufacturing Technology Centers in Huntington, Charleston, Bridgeport and Rocket Center (near Keyser in West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle), its mission includes developing a quality, just-in-time supplier base for the Department of Defense, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the commercial sector.
