The Robert C. Byrd Institute will offer: Python Coding for Kids! Summer Camps June 24-28 in Huntington and July 15-19 in South Charleston. Middle and high school age —Target ages 8-15yr old!— students will gain firsthand experience in computer coding with Python, the same powerful language behind such sites as YouTube and Dropbox. No experience is required!
Campers also will explore careers in coding, information technology and source validation under the guidance of Leeann Hesson, the librarian at Winfield High School who has a passion for teaching coding to children of all ages.
Have a Raspberry Pi or other micro-computer that can speak Python? Bring it along. You can use it to take your projects to the next level. Don’t have one? That’s fine! You don’t need to bring a thing; RCBI will provide a computer for you to use.
Parents and guardians, are you a kid at heart with a desire to learn programming? Join your children and sign up for our camp!
